Think of everything you did for the last 20 years. Now take it all away. THE EXONERATED tells the true story of six innocent people who were convicted and sentenced to death for crimes they did not commit. Through tireless advocacy and an unshakable belief in their innocence, the six survivors earn their release but are left to deal with the aftermath of an American justice system that failed them. Constructed entirely out of interviews, letters, transcripts, and case files, the stories are mini-chronicles of lives destroyed and precious time wasted, and yet are testimonies to the fact that hope and faith can survive in even the bleakest of situations.
